New York with Kids

After a few days of New York photo sessions, what could be better than sightseeing with family and friends? That's right! We like to torture our New York friends by making them do silly touristy things with us.  We grabbed our little point and shoot and headed out... we saw a lot and had an amazing time.

We devoted one day to the beautiful Prospect Park in Brooklyn. We visited the park and zoo and had a great time. The zoo had so many great interactive exhibits for the kids. They loved the giant spider web and turtle shells. They climbed right into the big hatched eggs, which they thought was pretty funny. The zoo has a series of really cool metal animal sculptures that Jeff and I really liked.

The park is very beautifully cared for and the change in flora and fauna is something that Miami folks, so used to palm trees all year, can really appreciate.

As excited as the kids were... I think the adults were even more so. FAO Schwarz! The babes loved the big piano made famous in the movie Big. Jeff loved the Lego Darth Vader sculpture. I'm sure all the thirty something American males out there can totally appreciate this fine work of art.

Beautiful, beautiful! We wandered all around the city but my favorite place to spend the day is still Central Park.

Jeff grabbed a quick shot of me with my amazing sister. LOVE HER! Below sis watches as the twins ride the Central Park Carousel.

Times Square made all of us very happy. Toddler kisses and hugs were everywhere to be found... I think it may have had something to do with the huge M&M movie playing non-stop on of the giant TVs. M&M's make me happy too!

Stephen and Ophelia both love photography. Below are two images they shot as we made our way around the city. Not bad for being three year olds!

We hit Chinatown and Soho with Vietnamese Iced Coffees and mini-pancakes from a street vendor in hand. Very cool and delicious.

We loved our trip! Many thanks to Thy and Yadira for their excellent tour guide skills. See you again very soon.

And although this post is totally personal... Thanks to all the NYC families and couples who invited us to come up and photograph them, in my favorite place, Central Park. We love you and hope to see you all again very soon.
